Why this site exists
I had a hair transplant myself. GraftAtlas is the catalogue I wanted while I was choosing a clinic, and could not find.
My own transplant
In 2024 I flew to Istanbul and had about 5,000 grafts transplanted. I paid $1,600.
The clinic met me at the airport. The package included a hotel, but my family came with me, so I turned the hotel down, the price came down with it and we stayed somewhere else. The clinic let me go on the third day.
The thing nobody warned me about
At the airport on the way home, the agent at boarding saw the bandages on my head and asked for a note from a doctor saying I was fit to fly.
I had my surgeon on WhatsApp, wrote to him and had the note within minutes. If I had not had that contact, I would have missed the flight. Ask your clinic for a fit-to-fly note before you leave, and keep the surgeon's direct contact until you are home.
Why I built this
While I was choosing, almost everything I could find about clinics was written by the clinics themselves: their own prices, their own before-and-after photos, their own articles about why they are the best choice. Comparing them took me months.
So I built the list I needed back then. Every clinic here is checked by hand against Google Maps, the clinic's own website and public domain records, and the advice pages come from reading more than 1,000 patient reviews, not from a template.
What this site is and is not
I am not a doctor and nothing here is medical advice. A listing is not a recommendation: the list includes clinics I would not go to myself, because leaving them out would hide what the market actually looks like.
No clinic pays to be listed, and no clinic has paid me anything to date. If that ever changes, it will say so on the page where it happens.
